York College of Pennsylvania Housing Accommodation Policies and Procedures
Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is committed to serving students with disabilities in all aspects of their college experience. SAS provides reasonable accommodations to students with documented disabilities to ensure equal access to the York College of Pennsylvania campus, housing, and programming. Eligibility for accommodations is determined on a case-by-case basis by engaging in an individualized, interactive process. York College of Pennsylvania provides equal opportunity to all of its programs, activities, and services, and in compliance with the Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA), and the FHAA (Fair Housing Amendments Act).
Students must complete the accommodations request process prior to the approval of a housing accommodation through Student Accessibility Services. Each student’s eligible accommodations are determined using an interactive and individualized process.
Housing Deposit and Applicaiton
A student must first pay the housing deposit and complete the housing application within "My Housing" before applying for housing accommodations. Housing accommodation applications and documentation received for a student who has not yet paid their housing deposit and/or completed their housing application will be held. Housing accommodation requests will not be processed until the housing deposit has been paid and the application has been signed and completed. Reasonable housing accommodations are based on eligibility.
This information may be shared with other York College of Pennsylvania departments as needed to provide necessary eligible accommodations (for example; Residence Life, Campus Safety, Facilities, Dining and Student Life).
